Dr E Vibenstein's Wednesday Week - April 21
Listen with: We7 | Spotify
After last week's enforced absence (blame the volcanic ash cloud), this week's show is crammed with new music from MGMT, Professor Green, Keane, Kate Nash, Paul Weller, Tracey Thorn, Hot Chip, All Time Low, The Futureheads, Codeine Velvet Club, The Temper Trap and James. There's a topical opener from Stereolab; a track from the soon-to-split Supergrass; and a tribute to Malcolm McLaren with a Lost '80s Classic from Bow Wow Wow, an overlooked classic from the man himself and a truly Bizarre Cover Version from - pardon me - The Bollock Brothers.

Dr E Vibenstein's Wednesday Week - April 14
We apologise for the lack of a Wednesday Week show this week. This is due to many things, including a useless internet connection, the annoying requirements of real life, and the fact that We7 appears to have gone down altogether. Normal service will, hopefully, be resumed next week. In the meantime, here is some music.

The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindler - a tribute to Malcolm McLaren
Listen with: We7 | Spotify
It's not often you can say without fear of contradiction that someone changed the face of popular music, but Malcolm McLaren was definitely one of the few. The mastermind behind the Sex Pistols, he also introduced the art of DJ scratching to the UK with his hit single Buffalo Gals and went on to bring opera to the masses... well, maybe not quite. Here's an hour of his finest moments, including all his solo hits; tracks from his protégés The New York Dolls, The Sex Pistols and Bow Wow Wow; the Happy Mondays' contribution to McLaren's Ghosts Of Oxford Street project; and tracks from the soundtracks of The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle and Kill Bill Vol. 2. RIP Malcolm.
